How to Learn From Your Masters

Immerse yourself in that which you seek, and you will become more like it.

If you are drawn to something, it is because there is something contained within that interests you.  This interest is fundamentally vital to the yearnings of human beings.

If you wish to acquire the attributes of those that came before you, then watch, listen, learn, but do not replicate.  Attempting to replicate will only lead you astray and cause you to become an ugly mirage of the truth.

Remember to soak in the teachings of those you admire, but do not attempt to understand.  Let it be, let it course through your veins and make itself apparent to you in due time.

If you find yourself as the teacher, explore your creativity.  Be expressive, and show your pupils something which they have not yet seen, something that they yearn for, the same craving you desire from your masters.

Most of all, keep an open heart.  Be kind to others, and take the opportunity to do good whenever possible.  Small kindnesses spread joy through the subtle rivers that connect us all.
